The carnival

Well today was fun! I, along with my fellow co-workers, went to Unionville, VA. to a community carnival to set up a booth for Worth Your Wait. It's nice getting paid to go to a carnival! It was a blast though running the games we brought for the kids. Despite the humidity at least it wasn't wicked hot like earier this week when it hit near 100 degrees (38 C)! I am looking forward to Netherland weather more each day. Well anyway we had a great day and now I am just sitting here with my friend Jeremiah taking it easy!

Well, there's not much else to tell. I have just been working and trying to get prepared for my move over-seas. I move out of my apartment on July 15 and plan on spending a few weeks with Mom and Dad. Well I must close for now so that I can prepare my lesson for tomorrow or maybe I will just watch a movie.

Me and my friend Summer

This is me and my friend Summer. She is the very talented actress that was in Come Back to the Five and Dime Jimmy Dean that I blogged about earlier. Summer is moving to Virginia Beach this next week to get her Masters in Theatre so look for her on screen one day!

Last night!

Last night was the most fun I have had in a long time! My roommate Bryan, my good friend Summer, and I went to dinner at very cool restaurant called Rapture in downtown C'ville which is a bit over priced (we had a buy one meal, get a free meal coupon) but has a great atmosphere. Then after dinner we went to the Live Arts downtown to see their performance of Arthur Miller's All My Sons! This was one of the best plays I have ever seen! I have to confess that I don't know too much about Arthur Miller but after seeing this play I will be studying his work! It was an amazing tragedy! I even shed a few tears. But you all must understand that if a play or movie is good I get so sucked into it that I almost feel like I am in it! For a description of the play visit: http://www.universalteacher.org.uk/gcse/allmysons.htm

So after the play we all went out to Jaberwoke (restaurant and bar) where they had karaoke night! It was a stitch let me tell you. I am sure you are all wondering if I sang and the answer is yes! I sang my old karaoke hit The Twist by Chubby Checker and it was so much fun. Many of you do not know that I once sang this song at the mall in Lynchburg at karaoke and won 10 free CDs. Well no prizes this night but everybody did get into it and I even had some interesting people join me on stage to dance and do back up! Lots of fun and laughs, good times!

My early going away party!

Well this past Friday all of my co-workers at Worth Your Wait (abstinence education) threw me and Steve a going away part since Steve is moving to Wyoming and me the Netherlands! We had a blast! Everybody at work loves to eat and so there was gobs and gobs of food and fun! I can truly say that it has been a huge blessing working at WYW this year and I know I will miss my great co-workers. Lee, I will miss talking about American Idol with you and you firing someone almost daily! Cindy, thank you for your many prayers and leadership. All you guys stay in touch!

Not much else going on right now in my life except work and school! So I will spare you all the boring details and close for now. Take a look at the pics below. For some reason they remind me of a song called Mambo # 5, well maybe not.

Dutch Cheese!

Well while grocery shopping today at the Giant super market I came across some Dutch cheese imported from Holland. Since I am moving there I thought it would be wise to try out their cheese. You can always tell a good country by their cheese and wine! So I am not sure if this is "real" Dutch cheese or not, but I thought it was pretty good! It had a good taste and texture. So Ineke, maybe you can comment and tell us if you know anything about this brand or if you think it is "real" Dutch cheese. The brand is Frico and it is Dutch Edam. I'm sure there are many cheese companies but anything you can tell us about Dutch cheese would help. So here is the picture taken before I sampled it.
(I swear, I had no wine before typing this)
